We have provided some typical questions that are common from our customers. If you can’t find what you are looking for, feel free to send us a message and ask!
What is pressure washing?
Pressure washing uses a highly pressurized water jet combined with chemicals to clean moss, algae, mildew and debris off of hard to clean surfaces such as concrete like driveways.
What is soft washing?
This type of washing uses low pressure nozzle on the machine, instead of high pressure. The specialized solution combined does more of the cleaning instead of the pressurized water. This has developed in the last 20 years originally intended for causing less damage to cleaning roof shingles. Certain surfaces actually should be cleaned with lower pressure to prevent damage such as breaking the seals in windows which traps moisture, or tearing shingles off a roof or vinyl siding from your house. Soft washing also uses less water, and the effects of the biodegradable chemicals last longer.
Which is better? Pressure washing or soft washing?
This majorly depends on the surface that needs cleaning. At Sparking Clean, we believe soft washing is the best method for removing debris from exteriors such as your roof, sidings, wood, etc. Pressure washing should solely be reserved for the very hard surfaces such as concrete.
Why should I hire a professional to do my exterior washing?
Pressure washing equipment can be very dangerous in untrained hands due to the amount of pressure used. If you are not familiar with the equipment, it can really cause damage. The use of a trained professional is important to do the job correctly. In the wrong hands, using the wrong equipment and nozzles can harm your property. Having the knowledge to use the right equipment, the right mix of detergents and water, and knowing which surface areas need soft washing vs pressure washing is very important. What chemicals do we use?
We only use detergents that are approved and not harmful to the environment.
Will my flower gardens be destroyed?
The environmental friendly detergents we use allow us to clean the surfaces without damaging your plants.
What structures or surfaces can be washed?
Pavement, driveways, decks, outdoor furniture, sides of buildings, fences, and pools and much more are all external surfaces that can be washed by someone with experience and professional equipment.
How often should I have my residence cleaned?
This depends mainly on what you need washed. For a general rule of thumb, having your residence soft washed twice yearly helps the longevity of your place by keeping the debris and harmful substances off regularly. Depending on what you need pressure washed, we can give our expert advice on how often your washing should be done.
What time of the year is the best to get pressure/soft washing done?
Any season of the year is ok to have a wash done, especially if it’s a job done properly. Many people think about it late spring after the pollen has settled. Another popular time is in the fall before the winter begins. Having your surfaces washed routinely keeps it at its optimum at all times.
What factors do you consider in my free estimate?
We need to know if it’s residential or commercial, and the size of the area that needs to be cleaned. This allows us to determine the time needed to do the job and how much resources to be used.
